Obituary for George H. "Josh" Ziegler

George H. "Josh" Ziegler, 88, formerly of Hamburg, passed away in the morning hours, Monday, April 3, 2017, of natural causes, in the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center. He was the husband of Catherine A. (Albright) Ziegler.

Born March 12, 1929, in Reading, he was a son of the late George A. and Helen M. (Price) Ziegler.

He was a 1947 graduate of Reading High School. He also was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army.

He was a partner of the Albright Insurance Agency, Hamburg, from 1963-1986.

A member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg, he was also the Director for the Boyertown Mutual Insurance Co. for 24 years. He was a 50 year member of Vaux Lodge #406 F&AM, Hamburg, and was a member of the board of the Hamburg Area Historical Society.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Debra J. Ziegler, Los Angeles, Calif.

He was predeceased by his sister, June H. Hafer.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Phoebe Berks Village, 1 Reading Dr., Wernersville, PA 19565, with the Rev. Leah Knox, officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg, Friday at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends may call at the Chapel of Phoebe Berks on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg, is in charge of arrangements.
