June M.  Bordner (Blankenbiller)
June M. Bordner, 75, of Perry Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living, Boyertown. She was the wife of Ronald J. Bordner. They were married in June 1992.
Born in Ontelaunee Twp., she was the daughter of the late Howard Blankenbiller and Mary (Graeff) Blankenbiller Rickert. She was a 1959 graduate of Ontelaunee High School, where she was a cheerleader. June worked for twenty-five years for Brush Wellman, Perry Twp. She first worked at Bowers Battery. June also worked for The Hamburg Item; taught sewing for Singer; and worked for Dr. Raymond Haslam as a dental hygienist. After her retirement, June helped her husband on his tree farm.
June attended Fleetwood Bible Church. She was active in sports - racquetball, tennis and softball. June was a collector of many things; loved animals, especially her dogs; and enjoyed trap shooting. She was a life member and former secretary of the Perry Township Game Association; chairperson for several years of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, in which she helped to start the first chapter in Pennsylvania; Shoemakersville Senior Citizens; and the beneficial association of Union Fire Company #1 of Hamburg.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a step-daughter: Kimberly A. (Bordner) Hoare, Blandon; two step-grandsons: Mason and Gavin; one brother: Norman Rickert and his wife Nancy, Centre Twp.; and three sisters: Jean Feeney, and husband Gabe, Muhlenberg Twp.; Joan Weaver, and husband Rich, Leesport; and Cindy Padilla, and husband Robert, Reading. June was predeceased by a daughter: Sarah Ann Fink.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from Fleetwood Bible Church, 2847 Moselem Spring Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 9:30 to 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent Fleetwood Bible Church at the above address. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport is in charge of arrangements.
