Obituary for David C. Strunk
David C. Strunk, 63, of Hamburg, died Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Delores J. (Dietrich) Strunk. They were married July 8, 1978 and celebrated 38 years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of Russell O. and Anna E. (Kline) Strunk, Kempton. He graduated from Kutztown Hight School in 1971. David worked as a setter and hand shape moulder for Glen-Gery, Shoemakersville for 40 years, retiring in 2012. David enjoyed the outdoors. He was a hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed yard work. He loved to refinish furniture. He was a member of the choir at Freiden's Church in Shartlesville for 24 years, and always enjoyed singing.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are two daughters: Melissa M. (Strunk) wife of Jason A. Wenz, Temple, Lori A. (Strunk) wife of Adam C. Werner, Manheim; and four grandchildren: Nathaniel Strunk, Ryan Wenz, Dylan and Katelyn Werner. He is also survived by a brother: Dennis C. Strunk husband of Carol, Kempton, and sister: Darlene C. (Strunk) Kunkel, Shoemakersville.
Services will be held Thursday, April 27, at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526 (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Freiden's Cemetery, Shartlesville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. David's family requests casual attire for his service.
