Obituary for Francis J. "Frank" McCarthy
Francis J. “Frank” McCarthy, 93, of Greenwich Twp., died Friday, June 2, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Teresa M. (Gardner) McCarthy, died December 28, 2001.
Born in Cork, Ireland, he was the son of the late Francis T. and Ellen (Hannigan) McCarthy. He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church; Tilden Twp. Frank was a US Army Veteran during World War II. He worked as a municipal bond salesman for various banks retiring in 2001. Frank had spent time living in New York as well as Wisconsin before moving to the Hamburg area. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and also enjoyed sailing in his younger years.
He is survived by two daughters: Colleen A. (McCarthy) wife of Dean R. Neveau, Niagara, WI, and Teresa A. McCarthy, Greenwich Twp., fiancé of Than J. Wright, Hamburg; two grandchildren: Marlain Laubach, and Brady Gasper; and a brother: D. Desmond McCarthy husband of Patricia, Long Island, NY.
Services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 12 noon from St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:30 pm to 12:00 pm in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: St. Mary Roman Catholic Church at the above address.
