Obituary for Marian D. Sheipe
Marian D. (Kerr) Sheipe, 91, of Muhlenberg Township, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in her home. She was the widow of John A. Sheipe, who died in March of 1978 at the age of 54.
She was born in Reading, PA, and was the daughter of the late George and Eva Kerr. Marian had worked at Bachman pretzels and the Virginville hotel. Marian and her late husband John, owned the Kirbyville Inn from 1963 to 1966. Marian then worked at the Rich Maiden Golf Course from 1966 until she retired last September, 2016. Marian attended Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fleetwood. Marian lived a very full life. She was an extensive traveler and played golf regularly until six years ago. At one time, she was on a bowling league. Marian loved to read, crochet, tend to her cats, and do puzzles. Marian was also a former member of the Virginville Ladies Auxillary.
Marian is survived by two children: a son: David J. Sheipe, husband of Lorraine; a daughter: Georgene A. Oswald; two granddaughters: Kimberly A. (Bordner) Hoare, and Lori D (Sheipe) Miller, wife of Brett; four great grandchildren: Mason and Gavin Hoare, and Slayde and Brooklyn Miller; and one sister Mary (Kerr) DeLong. Marian was predeceased by four siblings: Mildred Schaeffer, Warren Kerr, Marie Gonzalez, and Leon Kerr.
