Obituary for Karen L. Adami

Karen L. Adami, 79, of Fleetwood, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Rev. Charles A. Adami, Jr., died October 19, 2013.

Born in Butler, PA she was the daughter of the late George H. and Florence H. (Perrin) MacKinney. Karen graduated from Butler High School in 1956. She graduated from Indiana State College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She worked as a teacher for a few years in Narberth, and Pocono Mountain. Karen and her husband were associate members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lobachsville; Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Twp., and Becker's St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. She served as director of St. Andrew’s Nursery School, Easton, for a number of years. She was a member of W.E.L.C.A of the churches that Rev. Adami served in, and was very active at each of those churches. Being an avid reader herself, Karen volunteered in teaching adult literacy. Along with her love of reading she enjoyed word puzzles.

Karen is survived by one son: Charles G. Adami, husband of Suzanne Kozischek, Easton; one daughter: Charis E. (Adami), wife of Kevin Egan, Tinton Falls, New Jersey; eight grandchildren: Stephen, Matthew, Andrew, Benjamin, Philip, Keith, Shannon, and Sayf; and three great-grandchildren: Mattison, Masen, and Victor. She was predeceased by a daughter: Kristine L. Adami, died January 1966.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 12 noon from St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 3900 Freemansburg Avenue, Easton, PA 18045. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon in the church.
