Obituary for Paul H. Silk

Paul H.  Silk
Paul H. Silk, "Pee Wee", 70, of Centre Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Donna L. (Miller) Silk. They were married on April 1, 1989 and celebrated twenty-eight years of marriage.
Born in New Brighton, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul H. and Geraldine R. (Cable) Silk. He was a graduate of New Brighton High School. Paul worked for Dana Corporation. He retired from the Caron Foundation as a drug and alcohol counselor for teenage boys. Paul was very proud of his sobriety and was thirty-three years clean and sober. After his sobriety, he dedicated his life to helping others gain sobriety. Paul's family was extremely proud of him. He was right with God. His motto was "Ride Clean, Ride Free." Paul was a very kind-hearted person; not only helping people, but helping any animal in need. He enjoyed being a colorful man displaying his many, many tattoos. Paul's two favorite places were his farm with his dogs and Sturgis, South Dakota. He was a life member of the Harley Owner's Group (HOG) Deer Lake Chapter; and a member of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA).
Surviving in addition to his wife Donna are his children: Tamela J. (Silk) Hess, Gouglersville; Lisa M. Strausser, Mohrsville; Tina L. (Silk), wife of Brian Miller, Bethel Twp.; Richelle L. (Strausser) Rose, Shoemakersville; LeAnn L. (Strausser), wife of Craig Knoblauch, New Ringgold; and Jeremy A. Strausser, and his wife Laura, Mohnton; nine grandchildren: Nicolo, Karley, Breanna, Madison, Jevin, Mariah, Gavin, Wyatt and Riley; and four great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Paislee, Brantlee and Bentlee. Paul is also survived by a sister: Patricia A. (Silk) Baughman, DuBois, Pa. He was predeceased by a son: Jason H. Silk. Paul will be missed by his faithful companions: Lulu, Coochie, Itty Boo and Rocco.
A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Easy Does It, 1300 Hilltop Road, Leesport, PA 19533. Paul's (Pee Wee's) Celebration of Life Ride will leave from Schaeffer's Harley Davidson in Orwigsburg on Saturday at 1:00 pm to Easy Does It for the life celebration at 2:00 pm. People should come as Paul knew them. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
