Obituary for Jeffrey L. Hawkins

Jeffrey L.  Hawkins
Jeffrey L. Hawkins, 57, of Tilden Twp., died Monday, September 11, 2017. He was the husband of Lynn C. (Harner) Hawkins. They were married in December 2004 and celebrated 12 years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of Donald P. Hawkins, Hamburg and the late Joan M. (Baer) Hawkins. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1978, where he excelled as an athlete. He later received an associates in Business from RACC. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. He worked as a supervisor at Wolfe Dye and Bleach Works, Shoemakersville for many years. Jeff enjoyed coaching football, track, soccer, and baseball. He was a member of the Hamburg Area School District sports Hall of Fame, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed cooking. Jeff was known to help anyone when they needed help.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father is a son: Derek L. Hawkins, at home; a daughter: Kala R. Hawkins, West Lawn; two step-sons: Jon P. Ross, Covington Twp., and Daniel M. McKnabb, Leesport; and his grandson: Aydin. He is also survived by two sisters: Susan B. (Hawkins) Miller, Orwigsburg, Kristen A. (Hawkins) Worman wife of Scott, Schwenksville; nieces and nephews; and his dogs: Allie and Boo. He was predeceased by a son: Nicholas A. Hawkins, died September 5, 2017.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 Church Street Hamburg. Burial will follow in Maidencreek Cemetery, Blandon. A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 pm in the church. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
