Obituary for Ceylon L. Koppenhaver

Ceylon L. Koppenhaver, 85, of Hamburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. He was the husband of Eleanor E. (Boyer) Koppenhaver, to whom he was married for 61 years.
Born in Spring Glen, Schuylkill Co., he was the son of the late Ira C. and Ida E. (Schwalm) Koppenhaver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ceylon worked for thirty-five years for Dana Corporation, retiring March 1, 1990. He then drove van for the Laurel Center, Hamburg, for six years. Ceylon attended The Bridge Church, Hamburg. He loved Jesus and going to sing in other churches. Ceylon and his wife would participate in prison ministry. They were always helping people in need. He enjoyed spending time with this grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, baseball, and traveling.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter: Donna L. (Koppenhaver), wife of Donald E. Hoshauer, Windsor Twp.; three grandchildren: Heidi (Hoshauer), wife of Chad Zeigler; Heather (Hoshauer), wife of Mark Kessler; and D.J. Hoshauer, and his wife Becky; and seven great-grandchildren: Taylor, Summer, Aiden, Leah, Cason, Kaylee and Autumn. Ceylon was predeceased by a great-grandson: Chase Zeigler; six brothers: Ira, Warren, Ernest, Calvin, Daniel, and a stillborn brother; and four sisters: Arlene, Ruby, Anna and Mary.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from The Bridge Church, 3561 Old 22, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Bridge Church, for the Children's Ministry, at the above address.
