Obituary for Howard E. Olsen Jr.

Howard E. Olsen, Jr., 91, of Tilden Twp., passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Janet (Cabral) Olsen, who died in 2002.
Born in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Howard E., Sr. and Rita (Jones) Olsen. Howard was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served on the USS Levy which was a destroyer escort in the Pacific Ocean. Howard worked as a truck driver for Raia Industries, Bogota, NJ, retiring in 1994. He then drove school bus for Fairfax County School District, Fairfax, Virginia until 2002. Howard was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hamburg. He was a life member of the Harley Owners Group and the American Legion; and a member of Hamburg Lions Club and Navy Club in Reading. Howard was a jack of all trades.
He is survived by three sons: Howard E. Olsen, III, Tilden Twp. and with whom he last resided; Robert F. Olsen, Monroe, Michigan; and Thomas G. Olsen, Reading; two daughters: Jeanny L. Olsen, Reading; and Rita H. Moran, Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Howard is also survived by close friend: Jean Market; two brothers: George Fahey, Bernie, Texas; and Jacky Fahey, Arlington, Virginia; and one sister: Louise (Olsen) Rooney, Margo Island, Floriday.
A memorial service be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home on Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
