Obituary for Rose M. Eck (Fisher)
Rose M. Eck, 76, of Centerport, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in MS Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Joseph T. Eck, who died on November 8, 2005.
Born in Blandon, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Bertha (Herbein) Fisher. She was a 1959 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. Rose worked as an inspector of silicone wafers, first for Bell Labs, then
AT & T, and last for Lucent Technologies until her retirement.
Rose enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandson, and loved animals. She also enjoyed housekeeping, cleaning, decorating for the holidays, gardening, playing cards with the other spouses while the husbands were trap shooting, and the monthly luncheons with classmates.
Rose is survived by her son: Gary T. Eck, and his wife Jenette Eck, Centerport and with whom she resided; two grandchildren: Raechel (Eck), wife of Leroy Hess; and Kyle Eck, companion of Erika Hess; and one great-grandson: Bodie Hess. She is also survived by her siblings: Mildred (Fisher), widow of Larry Reber, Leesport; Irene (Fisher), wife of Terry Weand, Fleetwood; Jane (Fisher), wife of Pete Hoffman, Leesport; Paul Fisher, Jr., and his wife Linda, Blandon; and Rita (Fisher) Stufflet, Reading.
Services will be held on Monday at 12:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
