Obituary for William M. Spatz Sr.
William M. Spatz, Sr., 80, of Centre Twp., passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 in his residence. He was the husband of Mary B. (Quillman) Spatz. They were married on December 18, 1954 and celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.
Born in Penn Twp., he was the son of the late William K. and Nora (Rhine) Spatz. He worked for thirty-three years for Dana Corporation, last working as a forklift operator until his retirement. William was also a farmer in Centre Twp. He enjoyed wood working and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: William M. Spatz, Jr., and his wife Penny; Michael D. Spatz, and his wife Pamela; Daniel K. Spatz, Sr., and Nancy A. (Spatz), wife of Michael Schreffler, all of Centre Twp.; ten grandchildren: Christopher, Amy, William III, Amanda, Matt, Zachary, Ashley, Daniel Jr., Dana and Samuel; and seven great-grandchildren: Caitlyn, Logan, Mckenzie, Kaylee, Dylan, Chase and Claire. William is also survived by a sister: Janet (Spatz), widow of Robert Wertz, Centre Twp.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Friday 10:00 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109.
