Michael S.  Haag
Michael S. Haag, 65, of South Heidelberg Twp., passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret A. "Peggy" (MacKenzie) Haag. They were married on March 19, 1977 and celebrated forty years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Jean A. (Binner) Haag, Bern Twp.; and the late Stanley R. Haag. Michael was a 1969 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School and graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. He worked as an area manager at Carpenter, Reading, until retiring in 2015. Michael enjoyed reading about World War II history, grilling, traveling and Rock and Roll music, namely The Rolling Stones. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two daughters: Stephanie A. (Haag), wife of Joshua Hess, Shillington; and Courtney E. Haag, Denver, Colorado; and one brother: Timothy L. Haag, Breckenridge, Colorado. Michael will be missed by his faithful companion and buddy, Burke.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday at 3:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. This will be a time for family and friends to share stories and memories of Mike. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Saturday 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
